My sewing machine has been broken since February...the day after i made the apron i posted about. It took me months to finally take it in, and then they had it and fixed it enough for me to use again..that took another month. There are things that don't work, but they were things i never used anyway. i have to say...a tuned up and clean machine sews so smooth, it's dreamy!
Our new garage has a loft above it, which i have turned into the sewing room. We have the Wii up there, cable, and a pull out couch..so really, it's a multi purpose room. But mostly sewing :). i LOVE the light it gets. Way different than the dark room i had at the old house.
The other night i noticed that Ben's quilt i made for his 6th birthday was too small for him to cozy under. So yesterday i cut some fabric, sewed it up, quilted it, and today i bound and washed it. 24 hours later he was snuggling under it. Not bad! It felt really good to sew again!
here are a couple photos of the Loft...i can't wait to paint and hang some photos! i also need to cover that ottoman with fun fabric since the old cover ripped.

The back is a soft heathered gray flannel. Flannel is my favorite for quilt backs. So soft!

Love your new place! Your post reminds me how much I loved making quilts on my sewing machine....heaven knows where it is or if I still have it! Love the new quilt you made for Ben. Missed your posts, Erin. I love keeping up with your family.

This makes me really miss having my own space to sew. Ever since Garrett moved into the "spare room" I haven't touched my sewing machine. I can't fathom working in such tight quarters after having space... this is SO nice! I love the windows on either side! It gives me so many ideas of how I would make additions or modifications to our home if we had the money! I agree with Ashley - don't move again!! This place is great!!
